Power of Negotiation
Negotiating in part of persuasion.
We negotiate with our parents to let us stay out late with our friends;
We negotiate with our teachers to give us a few more marks for our exams;
We negotiate with stall owners to get a cheaper price;
We basically negotiate in our everyday lives-with or without us knowing subconsciously.
The better our skills of negotiation, the better we get to our objectives.
Go watch The Great Debaters, a movie produced by Oprah Winfrey and her production company, Harpo Productions.
The film, based on a true story, revolves around the efforts of debate coach Melvin B. Tolson (Denzel Washington) at historically black Wiley College to place his team on equal footing with whites in the American South during the 1930s, when Jim Crow laws were common and lynch mobs were a pervasive fear for blacks. In the movie, the Wiley team eventually succeeds to the point where they are able to debate Harvard University.

The intensity of the actors' speech comes with great power to convince everyone their point of view. A clear example of negotiation in play. So go on and enjoy the movie!
